Hi Gang!

A REQUEST … Anyone have a Cardo G9 they would like to get rid of? I need one to test..

So at 68 years old I finally had to understand I am getting old.

ONLY because we ride bicycles and I wear a heart rate monitor I found out I have Afib! That’s Atrial fibrillation a rapid crazy out of control heart rate! I went through THREE heart rate monitors thinking they were broken before Andy (my riding buddy) finally said “NOT riding with you until you see your doctor!” Andy was kicking my ass a little more than usual so I figured I better go see the doc.

The next day I had a EKG, Blood work, an ECHO the next week and am now on drugs to prepare me for a Cardioversion on June 16th … They are gonna ZAP me and get my heart back in sync! It is supposed to be routine and I hope so has the next morning we are leaving for our RENO GIG!

BTW I am still riding the pushbike and Kathy and I rode the tandem Saturday May 30th 36 miles on a charity ride.

Well other than that little glitch … So far Kathy and I are having a great 2015 spring and summer, and we hope you all are also!

On May 2nd we rode our Tandem bicycle on a metric 100 that’s 63 miles with a big climb at the 50 mile mark! YIKES!.

Then we decided to ride, not tow our motorcycles to beautiful Mariposa for the 49ner Rally. We commuted from Merced to Mariposa everyday as the rooms were a TAD less expensive in Merced and we also got to ride our motos a lot!

I did my first seminars of the year on Luggage “Why we do the things we do” and communications and “how and why to do the things you do on your BMW Bluetooth module”. They went great! And I feel a few folks got enlightened.

This month it’s off to RENO for the “Reno Rendezvous”. Then we get ready for the “Corbin Hollister Gig”, “VStrom Gathering” in Fortuna and the BIGGIE in Billings the “BMW National Rally”!

Then September off to Coeur d’ Lane for the “Curved Cowboy Reunion”, Beemer Bash in Quincy and the Horizons Unlimited get together back in Mariposa.

October we are going to Las Vegas to my 50th (YES 50th) High School reunion!
See ya all next month.

This is all your fault!

I used to just throw a sleeping bag on the back of my bike and hit the road, stopping 'wherever' for the evening's accommodations.

This is what my life on the road has evolved to....

FYI, I was not complaining about the s plug. This is a sena thing. I have a set of molded big ears that do the same but I find they can be difficult to keep in place as I put on my helmet.

So far I'm loving the s plugs. They stay in place while putting the helmet on, have better noise reduction and are pain free.

Thanks again.

Thank you for completing the bags and sending so quickly!  They look great.  Installed the tank bag and rode quickly with it.  Nothing else can express how nice and easy it was to install

Shel Silverstein passed in 1999 but what a ride he had. Here is just a couple of his works. If you want to know more about him click on the link.
The Peace Proposal.

Said General Clay to General Gore
"Really must we fight this silly war
To kill and die is such a bore"
Said General Clay to General Gore
"Really must we fight this silly war
To kill and die is such a bore"
"I quite agree," said General Gore

Said General Gore to General Clay,
"We could go to the beach today
And have some ice cream on the way".
"A grand idea", said General Clay

Said General Clay to General Gore,
"We'll build sand castles on the shore".
Said General Gore, "We'll splash and play".
"Let's leave right now", said General Clay

Said General Gore to General Clay,
"But what if the sea is closed today
And what if the sand's been blown away?"
"A dreadful thought", said General Clay.

Said General Gore to General Clay,
I've always feared the ocean's spray.
And we may drown." "It's true we may.
It chills my blood", said General Clay.

Said General Clay to General Gore,
"My bathing suit is slightly tore.
We better go on with our war."
"I quite agree", said General Gore

Then General Clay charged General Gore
As bullets flew and cannons roared.
And now, alas, there is no more
Of General Clay or General Gore.

The VStrom Western Gathering Rally.
Previous rallies have been held in South Dakota, Montrose Colorado, Boise Idaho, the Dalles Oregon, Ventura California and Silverton Colorado.  This years main rally location will will be in Fortuna, California just a mile or so from the coast. There are many great motorcycle roads in this area. Come to Fortuna and experience the camaraderie, rides and fun. Good sites to find out more about Fortuna and Humbolt County are http://www.redwoods.info (they even have a motorcycling information page) and http://www.sunnyfortuna.com/

Besides the information on this site there are also threads running on Stromtrooper and ADVRider. Visiting these sites maybe you'll find some to ride with to the meet or tips about roads on the way.

Saturday dinner is at Eel River Brewing Taproom & Grill.

6 pm Saturday July 11 it's time for dinner. The outside patio have been reserved for 20-30 people. Please let me know if you're planning to attend as we need to let the brewery know a head count by the end of June. For any groups over 8 they only do one bill, so we'll have to remember what we ordered and split it on-site.

The brewery is within walking distance from the camp ground and all hotel/motels listed on the lodging page. The address is 1777 Alamar Way, Fortuna, CA 95540

Then the BIG ONE MARTHA! The BMW National Rally in Billings Montana. in Mid July.
